FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to children neurology. Area of heel is tabbed with hammer and reflex is produced in position of child on back with bent in hip and knee joints legs with horizontal position of shin. If response is obtained in form of well-expressed response of extremity extension in form of jerk in child at the age of one month its neurologic status is evaluated as normal. Absence of reflex or its enhancement points to perinatal affection of CNS. If in three-month old child reflex is obtained or it is enhanced, it points to CNS affection, if reflex is not obtained or it is reduced - child is considered to belong to group of healthy children.

EFFECT: method extends arsenal of means for examination of periosteal reflex in children of first months of life - heel-extension reflex.
