METHOD OF OBTAINING BIOPSY MATERIAL FROM ATHEROSCLEROSIS-AFFECTED VESSELS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B16/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to cardiology. In order to obtain postmortal material from arterial vessels affected by atherosclerosis arteries of medium and/or large size of muscular-elastic or elastic types with signs of atherosclerosis are used. Section of vessel wall is opened along, cut of vessel intimal layer not more than 0.1 mm deep, 1 cm long, 2 cm wide is made in order to obtain sample mass not less than 10 mg. Near cut edge isolated section of intimal layer is caught with movement perpendicular to direction of cut line along vessel surface and separated from underlying layers. Obtained sample is washed in 0.9% solution of sodium chloride, weighed and frozen in liquid nitrogen. Time of tissue sampling, including opening and freezing constitutes not more than 15 minutes.

EFFECT: method allows to obtain samples of postmortal material, including only vessel intima, optimally necessary for high output of RNA.
