FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: molecular genetic testing of biopsy samples of tumour tissue, followed by isolation of RNA and determination of the YKL-39 gene level by means of a quantitative polymerase chain reaction in real time is carried out. As the calibrator, normal breast tissue is used, in which the level of the YKL-39 protein gene expression is 1 CU. If an expression level of YKL-39 is more than 1 CU, a low risk of lymphogenic metastasis development is predicted. If an expression level of YKL-39 is less than 1 CU, a high risk of lymphogenic metastasis is predicted.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the method due to the detection of new markers and their numerical values, which allow to predict the course of the disease and assess the risk of lymphogenous metastasis in patients with breast cancer.
