FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutron generation, to targets for nuclear reactions, and specifically to generation of intense streams of fast monochromatic neutrons, particularly to neutron generators. On the target substrate, there is a deuterium target whose centre is displaced on the horizontal from the axis of the deuteron beam by half its radius, and a tritium target is coaxially placed around the deuterium target, where the tritium target is made in form of three steps of concentric rings whose width is not less than the diametre of the selected component of the deuteron beam, and thickness of the steps falls from the periphery to the centre of the target.
EFFECT: simple design, increased intensity of the neutron beam.
