SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering, particularly to propeller screw with limited diametre and to method to increase propeller screw thrust and efficiency. Proposed method comprises calculating optimum number of monoplane base propeller blades to allow maximum efficiency and thrust corresponding to said efficiency. Difference between required and designed thrust is determined. Obtained difference is compensated by means of thin-wall polyplane working surfaces attached to base blades, mainly, on the side directed along flight (ascent) directions provided peripheral speed of propeller base blade ends and polyplane working surface ends do not exceed sound velocity: D·nmax≤6000, where D is limited (preset) diametre of swept area, m; nmax is propeller maximum rpm. Proposed propeller screw comprises wide base blades and symmetric cross sections of blades. Polyplane working surfaces represent, for example a grid with set of flat mutually perpendicular plates arranged on base blades, starting from the blade tail end.
EFFECT: higher thrust and efficiency.
