FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to poultry farming in particular to estimation of freshness of food and incubatory eggs by their shrinkage. The method includes egg weighing in the distilled water and egg volume determination. Besides elastic deformation of a shell is measured and an index of egg's freshness is defined under the formula. HC=M1/V×100+0.14(ED-16), where; M1 - egg mass in the distilled water; V=M-M1 - egg's volume; M - egg's mass in air; ED - elastic deformation of the egg's shell, mcm; 16 - elastic deformation with reference thickness of the shell; 0.14 - coefficient of change of an index of egg's freshness accordingly unit of elastic deformation of the egg shell.
EFFECT: labour expenditures is decreased due to increase of precision of definition of egg's freshness by shrinkage.
