STRAIN "VNIIZZH 2003" OF GOAT-POX VIRUS VARIOLA VIRUS CAPRINUM TO PRODUCE BIOPREPARATIONS FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND SPECIFIC PROPHYLACTICS OF GOAT-POX Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C12N7/00 

FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: new production strain "VNIIZZh 2003" of goat-pox virus (VOK) has been produced, which is attenuated and avirulent for goats. Strain is deposited into collection of microorganisms used in veterinary science and livestock sector of FGU "VGNKI" under the following registration number - production vaccine strain "VNIIZZh 2003" - DEP VOK. Strain is reproduced in primary culture of goat gonad cells Ch-91 for 5-7 days and is accumulated in titre of at least 5.5 lg TCD₅₀/cm³. Strain preserves original characteristics during passage in culture of Ch-91 cells for 35 passages. Strain has served as the basis to make antigen for serological reactions and hyperimmune blood serums to VOK in rabbits and goads with activity in RDSK 1:120-1:160, in RDP 1:16-1:32 and in IFA 1:1000-1:4000. Virus vaccine produced on the basis of strain protects immunised animals against direct infection with virulent virus.

EFFECT: expanded arsenal of production VOK strains and possibility to use them in veterinary medicine.
