FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: bounded region of space is given for monitoring altitude hold of aircraft during flight at a fixed level to undergo analysis. A message is received from an aircraft located in the said region of space. Unreliable data are screened out and reliable data are stored for further processing. The type of the describing function is given, which approximates the relationship between barometric and geometrical altitudes, its coefficients are calculated, the describing function is calculated and from given onboard measurements, deviation from the given absolute altitude is calculated for each aircraft. When deviations are detected, messages are generated which are displayed on the air picture indicator in air traffic control centres, sent to the respective aircraft and recorded on a digital audio recorder or some other device for storing information. The error of the barometrical altitude measuring device, as well as the certainty factor of the said estimation are calculated for each aircraft onboard. The correction value of the readings of the barometrical altitude measuring device is displayed on the intracabin indicator. The difference between the characteristic altitude and the absolute altitudes received from the first aircraft are calculated for each aircraft and the crew is provided with information on overshooting the given difference in allowable values.
EFFECT: increased reliability of displayed data during flight.
