FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: user equipment (UE) is classified with division into a first group of UE, designed for separate inclusion into the schedule, and a second group of UE, which can be included into the schedule together. The classification can be based on the number of transmitting and receiving antennae, sector load, data requirements, steady state channel statistics, number of UE etc. Channel quality indicator (CQI) information received from UE is interpreted using different techniques depending on the group to which the UE belongs. For MIMO transmission, one UE can be simultaneously selected from the first group or several UE can be simultaneously selected from the second group. MIMO transmission can be made to one UE from the first group or several UE from the second group at rates selected based on the CQI information.

EFFECT: efficient transmission with several inputs and several outputs in multiple-access wireless communication systems.
