FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method and device of metal band winding onto coiling mandrel positioned in winding device stack. Metal band is fed to coiling mandrel by guiding device including one top and one bottom guiding rolls in the frame of guiding device. Guiding is also performed by a table under metal band, and transition device above metal band with adjoining flap lid of the stack set close to coiling mandrel. To control band passage through guiding device, longitudinal tension applied to metal band by guiding device is defined by band tension metre mounted on guiding device frame in turning point at small distance behind bottom guiding roll with possibility to turn to metal band from below. Band tension metre includes first lever arm mounted in the back of guiding device frame, second lever arm connected by joint in front on the first lever arm and carrying a roller at front end, and force gauge placed between first and second lever arms.
EFFECT: obtainment of metal band roll with smooth edges.
