FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention group refers to metallurgy and can be applied in thin metal band drawing. Metal band is subjected to plastic deformation in one or more drawing zones, with tensile stress within or above the yield point. The band is locally heated and/or cooled in the same zone to achieve irregular temperature distribution along the band width. A plant including at least one couple of draw rolls is used and forms drawing zone between first draw roll and second draw roll. At least one first temperature-maintaining device with one or more heating and/or cooling elements is positioned in drawing zone where metal band is under tensile stress within or above the yield point to obtain irregular temperature profile along the band width.
EFFECT: improved quality of metal bands.
