FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biological treatment of waste water. Waste water is fed through inlet apparatus 12 in the bottom part of a reservoir 14 to the mixing zone 2. Gas released during fermentation is collected in a system 4 for collecting and separating gas. The liquid to be purified rises through an ascending pipe 5 to a device 6, where the gas is separated from the liquid and removed through an outlet 7. Due to hydrostatic pressure at least equal to approximately 1.4 m of a water column (approximately 0.14 bars) in the descending pipe 8 on the level of the liquid surface 21, a gas-raising effect is maintained in the ascending pipe 5, and the liquid returns to the bottom part of the reservoir 14. Purified water is removed from the reactor through drain troughs 11.
EFFECT: invention improves mixture and fluidisation of semi-liquid wastes at the bottom of the reactor.
