SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of biotechnology. A system and method for intensifying biomass production (options) are proposed. The system contains a loop reactor with a gas-liquid separation tank, a loop section and a non-vertical pressure reduction zone, where the loop section is inclined upward between the inlet of the loop section and the outlet of the loop section. The method includes passing a multiphase mixture of gas and liquid nutrient medium through a non-vertical zone of pressure reduction, separating the multiphase mixture into a gas phase and a liquid phase, providing a flow of a gas phase and a liquid phase into a gas-liquid separation tank, removing a liquid phase from a gas-liquid separation tank and feeding into a loop section.

EFFECT: inventions provide efficient mass transfer of gaseous substrates.
