SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of purifying derivatives of 3-hydroxy-amidino-phenylalanine of formula , where R¹ , R² , R³ and Z are disclosed in the description of the invention. The method involves the following steps: (a) addition of derivatives which are optionally contaminated with 3-hydroxy-amidino-phenylalanine to a solution of aromatic sulfonic acid in order to obtain a precipitate, (b) separation of the precipitate obtained at step (a), and (c) recovery of the derivative of 3-hydroxy-amidino-phenylalanine from the precipitate. The invention also relates to obtaining highly pure derivatives 3-amidinophenylalanine from 3-hydroxyamidinophenylalanine.
