FIELD: medeicine.
SUBSTANCE: essence of method of predicting outcome of laser intrastromal keratomileusis (LASIK) in case of high degree myopia lies in the following: content of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) is determined in blood serum before and 1 day after LASIK operation, TGF-β1 expression coefficient is calculated by formula. If coefficient value is 1.6-1.8 favourable outcome after operation is predicted, if value is 1.1-1.3 unfavourable outcome is predicted.
EFFECT: increasing accuracy of LASIK outcome prediction in case of high degree myopia.
