FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: portable device (10) for detecting X-rays has a detection panel (12) put inside a holder (14), where there is a gap around the said detection panel between its outer edge and the inner wall of the holder (14). The gap between the inner wall of the said holder and outer edge of the said detection panel provides shock absorption in at least one corner (16) of the said detection panel. Also on at least one side (18) of the device (10) there is a small gap or there is no gap in order to maximally enlarge the active area of the detection device (10), that way imaging areas of the object (200) which are not easily accessible.
EFFECT: maximum enlargement of the active area of the device in order to image the difficult to access area under the hand.
