FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: niobium based powdered material for making electrolytic capacitors contains 10-100000 parts per million or 500-10000 parts per million in terms of mass of vanadium. Powdered vanadium, vanadium oxide and/or a vanadium compound which is converted to vanadium oxide through hydrolysis or a thermal technique is mixed with niobium metal, niobium oxide and/or niobium oxyhydrate. If necessary, the obtained mixture is dried and calcined. The obtained mixed oxide is reduced to niobium superoxide or niobium metal, containing vanadium and, if necessary, nitrated.
EFFECT: niobium based powder is suitable for anodes of capacitors whose capacitance is independent of bias voltage.
