FIELD: production of metallic powders used for making electrolytic capacitors.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing metallic powder with high factor of surface area selected from tantalum, niobium and their alloys as pure powders or with use of titanium, molybdenum, tungsten, hafnium, vanadium and(or) zirconium added or produced together with above mentioned powders comprises steps of preliminary producing oxide or mixed oxides of metal(s) in the form of oxide porous mass having some shape through which gas may be passed; using as reducing agent gas generated outside porous mass; performing reduction process by passing gaseous reducing agent through said mass at elevated temperature; selecting reagents, porosity degree, temperature and time interval for realizing reaction in such a way that to provide practically complete reduction of oxide(s), separation of its metallic component and to receive oxide of reducing agent generated during said reaction and may be easily removed. According to invention niobium powder has primary agglomerated particles with size in range 100 - 1000 nm. Agglomerates have predetermined dimensions D10, D50, D90 and they contain particles respectively with fraction size in range 3 - 80 micrometers, 20 - 250 micrometers and 30 - 400 micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced manufacturing properties of powder.
