SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used in manufacturing complete and partial detachable maxillary prostheses by compression method of plastic pressing. Method of obtaining edge adjoining of maxillary detachable prostheses on distal border includes final modeling of wax analogue of maxillary prosthesis, formation for rib of rigidity from wax along its distal border parallel to "A" line in both sides from pterygomandibular fossa, replacement of wax with plastic by compression method. After final modeling of wax analogue of maxillary prosthesis, preliminarily along its distal border parallel to "A" line in both sides from pterygomandibular fossa slot is made in gypsum model at 90° angle to palate surface, 3 mm wide and from 4 to 5 mm deep, slot is filled with heated wax, true distal edge of prosthesis is elongated to slot width, modeling new edge with wax at 90° angle to true distal edge of prosthesis, after which by compression method wax is replaced with plastic, rib of rigidity obtained along distal edge of prosthesis is removed.

EFFECT: improvement of edge adjoining of prosthesis on distal border using compression method of replacement of wax with plastic.
