METHOD OF TREATMENT OF CHRONIC SPINAL CORD LESIONS IN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61N1/36

Abstract RU 2392016 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, is applied for treatment of chronic spinal cord lesions in experiment. Electrostimulation is conducted after transection of spinal cord in white rats at lower thoracic level (Th 9) in experiment. Electrodes are placed on the forehead and behind the ears. The stimulation is held with bipolar current rate of 0.7 mA. Duration of the main pulse is 3.5 msec. Duration of the sustaining one with opposite polarity is 10.9 msec. Frequency of bipolar pulses is 70 Hz. The stimulation is started after the transection. The course is conducted during 6 weeks, 3 times a week for 30 minutes each.

EFFECT: method allows to cause movements of akinetic limbs, to create and develop methods of treatment and rehabilitation of people with vertebro-spinal pathology.
