METHOD FOR TREATING CONSEQUENCES OF SPINAL CORD INJURIES IN INTERMEDIATE PERIOD Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61N2/00 A61N2/08

Abstract RU 2809545 C1

FIELD: physiotherapy; rehabilitation; neurology; traumatology; orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: used to treat patients with consequences of spinal cord injuries in the intermediate period of the disease. The method includes magnetic stimulation in the form of local exposure to a magnetic field gradient from a magnetic inductor on the affected part of the spine, as well as 3 segments above and below the lesion site, paravertebral, at a distance of 5 cm from the spinous processes of the vertebrae. The impact is divided into three stages with certain parameters each, a total duration of 15 minutes, a course of 10 procedures, every other day. After every third procedure of local magnetic stimulation, the next day, rhythmic transcranial magnetic stimulation is additionally carried out with a magnetic field gradient, an eight-shaped inductor alternately on the left and right, through the procedure, and the first procedure is carried out contralateral to the maximally affected side, on the projection of the primary motor cortex zone. Upon completion of the course of local magnetic stimulation, rhythmic transcranial magnetic stimulation is carried out once a week, for a total of 8 procedures.

EFFECT: method provides increased effectiveness of treatment of the consequences of spinal cord injuries in the intermediate period due to exposure to a magnetic field gradient with characteristics optimally selected for solving this problem, which, in turn, leads to the restoration of injured peripheral nerve endings and spinal cord conductors due to axonal growth and myelination axons and inhibition of their replacement with connective tissue and ensures regression of sensory, motor and pelvic disorders.
