FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: scrap in form of rods containing matrix non-ferrous material, filler in form of multitude of parallel fibres out of high-melting metal or alloy on its base and chips of matrix non-ferrous metal are charged into shell of separator. In separator an angle between axis of rods and gravity force vector should correspond to 0°-15°, while free space between rods is filled with chips of matrix non-ferrous metal. The filled shell is installed into a vacuumised melting crucible, wherein the shell is heated and cooled. Scrap heating is performed to melting temperature or above temperature of matrix non-ferrous metal melting and/or temperature of its alloy melting, but below melting temperature of metal of metallic composite materials filler. Further matrix non-ferrous metal and filler metal are separated. Separating grates of the installation are installed on crucible and are equipped with ridges and coaxial groves on the working surface. Through apertures eliminating conjugation of apertures of one separating grate with apertures of another grate are made in a bottom part of the coaxial groves, while flanges at angle 60°-90° are made on ridges of the working surface.
EFFECT: facilitating complete separation and extraction of valuable elements from scrap of metal composite materials.
