FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the working section of a transonic aerodynamic tunnel which has perforated walls, a pressure chamber and a strap assembly in the stream of the test model with a transverse support, the invention proposes to make holes in the transverse support on the side opposite the approach flow, and channels connecting the pressure chamber and these openings. As a result, the holes and channels connect the pressure chamber and the aerodynamic trail from the transverse support. In the aerodynamic trail, speed, complete and static pressure are less than in the main stream. Therefore, gas from the pressure chamber flows into the zone behind the transverse support. In another version pipes are fitted downstream from the transverse support, where the said pipes have holes on the side opposite the approach flow, and channels connecting the pressure chamber and these holes. In both versions the pressure chamber and the channels of the transverse support or pipes can be connected through ventilators.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption and wider range of the Mach number during tests.
