FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: underground nuclear heat power plant of vertical shaft design consists of complex of equipment with module of nuclear reactor positioned in lower part of shaft. The whole complex of equipment of the underground nuclear heat power plant is made as modules and is arranged above the module of the nuclear reactor along weight of the shaft. The module of the nuclear reactor is insulated from the rest of complex modules with a compartment of emergency insulation facility. The upper part of the shaft is equipped with a facility for de-concentrated withdrawal of coolant.

EFFECT: facilitating increased reliability of plant due to decreased area of radiation damage, reduced expenditures for construction of turbine island and reduced time for construction of underground nuclear heat power stations of shaft design.
