FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns agricultural engineering, particularly devices for detection of soil composition. Device comprises frame rigidly connected to jacket by means of latches, spring-loaded platform installed on frame, power-measuring mechanism installed under platform and fixing platform movement, reservoir for investigated soil sample installed on platform, and plate with ledges arranged over reservoir, ledges having blunt ends and section that corresponds to investigated sprouts of cereal crops. Plate is connected to jacket by means of screw to provide for the possibility of plate lowering and ledges impression into soil. Ledges are arranged in rows, and their length complies with length of cereals coleoptile.
EFFECT: application of invention will make it possible to detect soil density.
