FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns dentistry. Endodontic instruments have a required cutting edge. The endodontic instruments are cold moulded, at least partially. The method for moulding the endodontic instrument involves application of an original metallic fibre or a wire and a roll profiler. Said profiler comprises rollers with an imprinted cutting edge. The rollers are pressed to a workpiece with sufficient force to enable the rollers moulding the cutting edge in the workpiece at least partially. Any required shape of the workpiece can be provided by choosing a roller with appropriate imprint. The cold moulding techniques suitable for making endodontic instruments include roller profiling, flat pass rolling, radial moulding, cold drawing and similar techniques. Rasp files can be pointed or otherwise modified prior to or after cold moulding by using the techniques, such as cutting, grinding and chemical etching.
EFFECT: method for making endodontic instruments allows reducing manufacturing cost of the endodontic rasp files, however keeping or improving their strength.
