FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair of railroad rolling stock and can be used at repair enterprises. First, protective strip is made for area equal to that of support boss of side frame, axle box housing support and guide surfaces are milled to depth of protective strip thickness.Glue layer is applied onto prepared surfaces of protective strip and axle box housing. Axle box housing space between support bosses is filled by composite material layer in amount sufficient to fill cavities so that composite material top edge exceeds that of milled surface of support bosses by some 1.0 to 1.5 mm. Protective strip is pressed to axle box housing by normally distributed static load to come in contact with axle box housing milled surface to outsqueeze and remove excess composite material from strip. Protective strip is heated to composite material polymerisation temperature of 120°C and kept for 30 min at said temperature to allow polymerisation of composite material. Then blunt hole is bored for check pin. The latter is fitted in place and welded to protective strip wear-resistant surface for it to be cooled in ambient conditions.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and MTBR.
