FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: determination of content of compounds which can act as NO donors is based on the property of nitrite (NO2 -), nitrosothiols (RSNO), dinitrosyl iron complexes (DNIC) to inhibit the catalase enzyme in the presence of halide ions, and their losing of this property under effect of certain factors which are different for each group of compounds. The method has sensitivity of up to 50 nM. Determination takes place in a neutral or almost neutral medium and does not require sample preparation.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables to quantitatively differentiate nitrite, nitrosothiols and DNIC.
