FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for treatment of patients with papillary and papillovitreal neovascularisation in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Sections of fibrous tissue, "accompanying" papillary or papillovitreal newly formed vessels, are subjected to laser impact in form of laser pexy with diode laser irradiation with wavelength 0.81, power 600-700 mW. Exposure is repeated every 5-7 days until complete obliteration of newly formed vessels, immediately after laser pexy panretinal laser coagulation of retina is performed.
EFFECT: method allows to achieve complete obliteration of newly formed vessels of papillary and papillovitreal localisation with increase of comfort and improvement of life quality, elimination of threat of potential hemophthalmos or retina detachment.
