FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to melting methods of materials and to protection against corrosion and scale deposits. Method involves loading to the container of the material in the form of solid workpiece repeating the shape of inner cavity of container; at that, there used is container with external gas-tight wall and internal porous ceramic wall, which are located with a gap for gas supply; gas is supplied to the gap and through porous wall under the pressure exceeding the pressure inside container; gas does not interact with porous surface and molten metal and creates gas layer between them, and workpiece is molten in presence of gas layer; at that, there used is the container the shape of which provides upward flow of gas along the wall without penetrating into molten metal, and its porous ceramic surface has pores the size of which decreases as to thickness towards the surface contacting the molten metal, and pores the size of which decreases as to height of container, which compensates the appropriate decrease of hydrostatic pressure of molten metal.
EFFECT: providing the protection of molten metal against contamination with the material of container wall.
