FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of defects detection in bearings of railway cars axle-boxes by acoustic method in process of train movement. Acoustic detector of bearing defects comprises megaphones with microphones, sensors of wheel presence and processor of acoustic signal. Megaphones are arranged as having parabolic shape. Mouth of each megaphone changes into cylinder, diametre of which is equal to mouth diametre. Microphone is placed in focus of parabolic part of megaphone. Processor of acoustic signal comprises analogue-code converter and computer. Number of megaphones with microphones installed opposite to each rail is selected not less than route of axle-box displacement per single turn of wheel, divided into sum of megaphone mouth and axle-box diametres.
EFFECT: improved noise immunity, increased resolving power and analysis of acoustic signal.
