AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSIONS CONTAINING EFFECTOR SUBSTANCES, METHOD OF PREPARING SAID DISPERSIONS AND USE THEREOF Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C08F2/22 C08F2/44

Abstract RU 2395526 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to aqueous polymer dispersions which contain effector substances. The invention describes aqueous polymer dispersions which contain effector substances with average diametre of dispersed particles <500 nm, where the polymer particles contain a polymer matrix as a nucleus, made from at least one ethylene-unsaturated monomer, and effector substances which are soluble in monomers which form the polymer matrix, mainly lying on the surface of the polymer particles. Described also is a method of preparing aqueous polymer dispersions which contain effector substances with average diametre of dispersed polymer particles <500 nm through mini-emulsion polymerisation of ethylene-unsaturated monomers, distinguished by that a mini-emulsion with average size of emulsified particles < 500 nm is obtained through emulsion of ethylene-unsaturated monomers in water in the presence of at least one effector substance and a surfactant, then polymerised in the presence of at least one radical polymerisation initiator, with the assumption that first, a maximum of 50% monomers in the polymerisation zone are polymerised and the effector substances migrate on the surface of the emulsified particles, and polymerisation is completed only after considerable or complete accumulation of effector substances on the surface of the polymer particles formed. Described also is polymer powder which contains effector substances, obtained by evaporating volatile components of the said aqueous polymer dispersion which contains effector substances. Use of the said polymer powder which contains effector substances is also described.

EFFECT: obtaining a novel aqueous polymer dispersion which contains effector substances.
