FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of heat-resistant and crack-resistant copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene, which are valuable building materials with good processing and operational properties. The said copolymers are obtained via copolymerisation of monomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of a persulphate initiator and modifying additives. The modifying additive are fed into the reaction zone before simultaneously loading monomers and then feeding the said monomers into the mixture. The modifying additives used are ammonium salts of perfluoro-oxa acid or their mixture. These salts are obtained from telomeres of hexafluoropropyelen oxide. The modifying additives of ammonium salts of perfluoro-oxa acid are taken in amount of 0.7-5.0% of the mass of the loaded mixture of initial monomers.

EFFECT: obtained crack-resistant copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene with ethylene have high heat resistance and a wide processing temperature interval, as well as good physical and mechanical properties.
