FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with proposed method, fluid sample containing colloid nanoparticles is metered out into graphite furnace of electrothermal pulveriser incorporated with atomic absorptive spectrometre. Then furnace is heated to measure dependence of optical density of atomic vapor formed in graphite furnace upon time. Note here that similar measurements are performed for solution of ions of said element and several mono-dispersed suspensions, each containing colloid nanoparticles of known size. Note also that measured aforesaid dependence is used to calculate time of colloid suspension atomisation delay as compared with solution of ions. Then calibration graph of particle size vs delay time if constructed. Above described procedure is repeated and constructed aforesaid graph is used to estimate size of said particles.
EFFECT: possibility to determine concentration of element in fluid sample and size of nanoparticles containing said element.
