FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. Substance of the method of measuring high concentrations of chemical elements in samples by atomic absorption spectroscopy with electrothermal atomisation is that measures are taken to predict the concentration of free atoms inside the analytical cell predictably. Such measures include: selection of temperature at the stage of atomisation so that integral value of absorption during the stage of atomisation was less than integral value of absorption during cleaning, use of modifiers and performing of gas blowing through analytical cuvette. Method comprises placing a sample in an analytical cell, atomising a sample, measuring absorption of atoms of the determined element and integrating the absorption on the heating time, cleaning of the analytical cuvette, measurement of atoms absorption of the determined element and integration of absorption by time of cleaning.
EFFECT: wider range of determined concentrations of elements in samples by atomic absorption spectrometry to concentrations exceeding Cmax – upper boundary of the range of concentrations available for measurement using the traditional AASETA method on the same device.
