FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of solidifying concentrates of radioactive lubricating-cooling liquids (LCL) relates to treatment of radiation contaminated materials, specifically to processing liquid radioactive wastes (LRW), spent radiation contaminated lubricating-cooling liquids in particular. The method of solidifying concentrates of radioactive lubricating-cooling liquids involves successive addition of orthophosphoric acid, liquid glass, montmorillonite and caustic magnesite to concentrates of spent radioactive lubricating-cooling liquids in defined ratio in weight parts without stirring.
EFFECT: immobilisation of organic and surface-active substances, reduction of the solidified radio active waste object, reduced Sr and Cs leaching, lower temperature of the solidified monolith and its further cracking.
