WETTING COMPOSITION FOR FIRE-EXTINGUISHING Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A62D1/02

Abstract RU 2396098 C1

FIELD: means of protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aqueous wetting solutions for fire-extinguishing based on surfactants, which reduce surface tension of water, increase its wetting properties and are intended to extinguish fires of A class (solid hydrophobic combustible materials, such as wood, polymers, rubber, coal, peat, textile, etc.). Concept of the invention is as follows: fire-extinguishing wetting composition contains a mixture of sodium salts of fatty alcohols of normal and isometric structure with fraction of C12-C13, with the following content of sodium salts of fatty alcohols, having isometric structure - 10-95%, primary high fatty alcohols of fraction C8-C10, oxy-ethylated with six moles of ethylene oxide and/or primary high fatty alcohols of fraction C10, oxy-ethylated with five moles of ethylene oxide, triethanolamine salts of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid, produced by neutralisation of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid with triethanolamine and/or triethanolamine, oxy-ethylated with three moles of ethylene oxide, and/or triethanolamine, oxy-ethylated with six moles of ethylene oxide, down to pH=6.0-9.0, butyl glycol or butyl diglycol, ethylene glycol and/or propylene glycol, preservative and water at the following ratio of components, wt %: mixture of sodium salts of fatty alcohols of normal and isometric structure with fraction of C12-C13; 10.0-25.0; primary high fatty alcohols of fraction C8-C10, oxy-ethylated with six moles of ethylene oxide and/or primary high fatty alcohols of fraction C10, oxy-ethylated with five moles of ethylene oxide, or their mixture; 2.0-6.0; triethanolamine salts of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid, produced by neutralisation of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid; with triethanolamine and/or triethanolamine, oxy-ethylated with three moles of ethylene oxide, and/or triethanolamine, oxy-ethylated with six moles of ethylene oxide, down to pH=6.0-9.0; 0.5-5.0; butyl glycol or butyl diglycol; 0.5-15.0; ethylene glycol and/or propylene glycol; 3.0-25.0; preservative; 0.1-2.0; water; the rest.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of extinguishing and reduced time for extinguishing of solid hydrophobic materials on horizontal and vertical surfaces as a result of improved penetrating property and wettability of burning surface.
