FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to biotechnology. Alkaline phosphatase extracted from sea urchin egg cells is added to the test sample and pre-incubated for 10-15 minutes at room temperature. Sodium n-nitrophenylphosphate is added and incubated for 30 minutes at 25°C or 37°C. A coloured compound is obtained as the reaction product. The enzyme degree of inhibition is evaluated from the value of optical density of the substrate hydrolysis product at wavelength 400 nm using an ultraviolet reader using 96 well plates.
EFFECT: method enables visual determination of the enzyme degree of inhibition, integral assessment of presence of heavy metals, pesticides and other toxicants in water and increasing the number of simultaneously analysed samples.
