FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: light guide test sensor has a light guide, a reagent coated membrane and a cellular layer. The cellular layer and reagent coated membrane are attached to the light guide at its output end. The light guide test sensor is used to test the level of the analysed substance in a biological fluid sample together with a pick up head. The method of making the light guide test sensor involves obtaining a set of light guides, a strip of reagent coated membrane and a strip of a cellular layer. The reagent coated membrane and the cellular layer are attached to the light guides through ultrasonic welding. The reagent coated membrane and the cellular layer can also be attached to the light guides using a gluing element.
