FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention uses an optical fibre which directs collimated light onto an analysed section. Diffused light and reflected light is returned from the analysed section. A spatial-frequency filter prevents the reflected light from falling on the photodetector. The diffused light is collected and measured.
EFFECT: miniaturisation of the reading head.
