SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a pigment which contains aluminium hydroxide, a composite material which contains a polymer matrix and a pigment dispersed in the polymer matrix and containing aluminium hydroxide particles and a dye, and a method of producing the pigment. The pigment contains aluminium hydroxide in form of particles and a dye. The dye is covalently bonded to the oxygen of a hydroxyl group instead of hydrogen on the surface of the aluminium hydroxide particles. Aluminium hydroxide particles have general formula Al(OH)a Ob, where 0 < a ≤ 3 and b =(3-a)/2. The particles contain 1-38 wt % water and have the largest size which is not greater than approximately 1000 nm. The aluminium hydroxide particles are characterised by mould ratio equal to at least 2:1.
EFFECT: obtaining pigments with higher strength, colour stability and resistance to decolouring and leaching of the dye.
