FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing novel biological high-quality hydrocarbon base oil. The disclosed base oil contains branched hydrocarbons containing at least 18 carbon atoms, where at least 90 wt % of hydrocarbons are saturated, as well as more than 5% mononaphthenes and linked dinaphthenes and polynaphthenes in amount of not more than 1 wt %. The disclosed method involves ketonisation, hydrodeoxygenenation and isomerisation steps. The raw material is preferably fatty acids and/or fatty acid esters from biological raw material.
EFFECT: obtaining base oil with excellent properties without mixing limitations, which are compatible with lubricant material additives.
