FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: starting raw material consisting of at least one alcohol selected from a group consisting of primary and secondary saturated and unsaturated C1-C40-monobasic alcohols, diols and polyols is condensed in the presence of 1-20 wt % base catalyst selected from hydroxides and alkoxides of alkali and alkali-earth metals and metal oxides, combined with 0.05-1 wt % cocatalyst containing salt of chromium (III), manganese (II), iron (II), cobalt (II), lead (II) or palladium or tin oxide or zinc oxide,at temperature between 200 and 300°C. The condensation product undergoes hydrodeoxygenation in the presence of a hydrodeoxygenation catalyst at hydrogen pressure from 0.1 to 20 MPa and temperature from 100 to 500°C, and then undergoes hydroisomerisation in the presence of an isomerisation catalyst at hydrogen pressure from 0.1 to 20 MPa and temperature from 100 to 500°C.
EFFECT: use of the given method of producing base oil enables to lower impact on the environment.
