FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing base oil, characterised by that original raw material consisting of at least one aldehyde and/or ketone selected from a group consisting of C1-C40-aldehydes, C3-C79-ketones, C2-C40-hydroxyaldehydes or mixtures thereof, is condensed in the presence of an aldol condensation catalyst with a hydroxide of an alkali or alkali-earth metal as the aldol condensation catalyst, at temperature of 80-400°C. The condensation catalyst undergoes hydrodeoxygenation in the presence of a hydrodeoxygenation catalyst at hydrogen pressure of 0.1-20 MPa, at temperature of 100-500°C, and then hydroisomerisation in the presence of an isomerisation catalyst at hydrogen pressure of 0.1-20 MPa and temperature of 100-500°C.
EFFECT: use of the method enables to obtain base oil from renewable raw material sources, saving non-renewable raw materials.
