FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pneumatic elements are used to create a main gas pipeline model in form of a test stand (TS) which has a ball valve of shut-off and control valves, a high-pressure pipeline (HPP) and a low-pressure pipeline (LPP). The stand also has drainage pipe which connects the inside of the test ball valve to the atmosphere through a stop valve, as well as a pulse high-pressure pipe (PHPP) and a pulse low-pressure pipe (PLPP). The pulse high-pressure pipe connects the drainage pipe and the high-pressure pipeline. The pulse low-pressure pipe connects the drainage pipe and the low-pressure pipeline. In the first version of the test stand, a reverse flow metre is installed in the high-pressure pipeline. In the second version of the test stand, non-reversible flow metres are installed in the pulse high-pressure pipe and the pulse low-pressure pipe, with no flow metre in the drainage pipe. By switching the gas stream, the latter is first directed through the seal of the ball valve which is first in the path of the gas and then through the second seal.
EFFECT: possibility of measuring gas leakage through the first and second seals of the ball valve of shut-off and control valves respectively.
