FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass-ceramic materials. Glass-ceramic material comprises cordierite and yttrium silicate crystalline phases and is made of glass of compositions in mole %: SiO2 46–52, Al2O3 15–18, MgO 15–18, TiO2 8–16, Y2O3 4–8. Method comprises synthesizing glasses of composition in mole %: SiO2 46–52, Al2O3 15–18, MgO 15–18, TiO2 8–16, Y2O3 4–8, for this, the components are mixed to obtain a homogeneous mixture, which is filled into a cooking vessel and placed in a glass furnace. Mixture is melted in a slightly oxidative atmosphere at a temperature of 1,550–1,600 °C for 3–12 hours to homogenize the melt. Then the molten glass is cast on a metal plate and annealed at a temperature of 550–650 °C for 1–3 hours, after which it is inertially cooled. Further, the glass work piece is subjected to a two-stage isothermal heat treatment with a first stage in the temperature range 720–800 °C for 3–24 hours and a second stage in the temperature range 950–1,100°C for 3–24 hours, followed by inertial cooling to room temperature.
EFFECT: elastic modulus is increased up to 190 GPa.
