FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: power cell is controlled, and it is taken out of operation by means of bypassing in case of failure, switched off at input and output, tested and is brought into operation at positive testing result. Control is performed as to temperature of thyristors, output voltage of rectifier, temperature of IGBT-transistors and output current of inverter. During the test there checked is condition of input fuses an if their activations fail, thyristors are activated in pairs and output voltage of rectifier is checked, and then IGBT-transistors are activated in pairs and output current of inverter is checked through ballast load.

EFFECT: improving converter reliability.
