FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and power electronics, in particular to medium and high voltage converters. The essence of the technical solution lies in the fact that the system for pre-charging the capacitor bank and the DC link of the frequency converter is implemented through a separate low-voltage winding of a multi-winding phase-shifting transformer (MPT). A separate low-voltage winding of the MPT is connected to the output contact of the thyristor voltage regulator (TVR), at the input of which a block of current sensors for charging the capacitors of the power cells (PC) of the frequency converter is installed, while the TVR is connected to the control system of the frequency converter.
EFFECT: implementation of a fully voltage and current-controlled pre-charging circuit of the DC link capacitor bank of the power cells of the frequency converter.
