SUBSTANCE: following stages proceed in the flexible sheet material roll dispenser: measurement of the first roll diametre with the help of at least one first gage coming in contact with the roll butt surface, actuation of at least one first gage when the diametre is less than the value preset which results in displacement of the first gage beyond the butt surface; release of at least one first, grip retaining the first roll in place with at least one first grip released by way of displacement of the first gage; provision for the first roll transition from the dispensation position for eventual actuation of at least one second gage, release of at least one second, grip retaining the second roll in the reserve position with at least one second grip released by way of displacement of the first roll from the dispensation position and provision for the second roll transition from the reserve position to that of dispensation. EFFECT: invention provides for automatic roll replacement.
