FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of drinking water and specifically to electrochemical devices for treating water through electrolysis. The electrochemical water treatment device has a cylindrical metal casing which is the cathode inside of which there is a cylindrical insert made from aluminium alloy which is the anode, with formation of a cavity between the inner surface of the casing and the outer surface of the insert. At one end of the casing there is a device for feeding the water to undergo treatment into the cavity and on the other end there is a device for outlet of treated water from the cavity. The casing and the insert have contacts for connection to an electric power supply and the said cavity is sealed. Air-tightness of the said cavity is provided the said device for feeding water and plugging the butt end of the said insert on one side of the casing and on the other side by a bushing placed between the inner surface of the casing and the outer surface of the insert behind the said device for outlet of treated water from the cavity. The device for feeding water, the plug and bushing are made from electrically insulating material.

EFFECT: high quality of electrochemical water treatment in order to improve effectiveness of subsequent processing, floatation and coagulation.
